At Blue Grass Chemical Specialties, we believe in making a difference not just through our products, but through our actions in the community. On September 11, 2024, our team had the privilege of participating in our Day of Service by volunteering at St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities, a beacon of hope for individuals and families in need.
Supporting a Vital Mission
St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities is a dedicated non-profit organization serving Southern Indiana and Metro Louisville. Their mission is to provide help, create hope, and serve everyone with a profound respect for all life. The agency operates several programs, including:
Domestic Violence Transitional & Rapid Rehousing: Assisting individuals and families affected by domestic violence.
Women and Children Emergency Shelter: Offering a safe haven for those in crisis.
Maternity Home Program: Supporting pregnant women and new mothers.
Supported Living Program: Helping adults with developmental disabilities achieve self-sufficiency.
School Counseling: Providing guidance and support to students.
A Heartfelt Contribution
On our service day, members of the Blue Grass team rolled up their sleeves and got to work painting the fence inside the garden area known as Marie’s Blessings. This garden is a special part of St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities’ mission, offering gently used items free of charge to families in need.
Marie’s Blessings provides vital resources to families, including:
Mom & Baby Items: Essentials like diapers and wipes.
Hygiene Products: Crucial for maintaining personal care.
Maternity and Children’s Clothing: Ensuring that parents and children have what they need.
Blankets, Car Seats, Baby Beds: Comfort and safety for the youngest members of the family.
Household Goods, Appliances, Furniture: Helping to create stable and comfortable living environments.
With 14 buildings and only one full-time maintenance head, St. Elizabeth relies heavily on the support of volunteers to maintain their facilities. Our team was honored to contribute to this effort by enhancing the beauty and functionality of the garden space.
